EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Kaye Fletcher
Kaye Fletcher has extensive experience in the education, corporate and not-for -profit sectors. Kaye has designed research projects for the government and corporate sectors and has contributed to reports on a range of current initiatives across Australia, including issues around attitudes and skills related to the use of ICT across the community. Her research and case studies were published as part of the Federal Government's National Bandwidth Inquiry. For TAFE NSW, she conducted an interview program with stakeholders in curriculum development and teaching and learning reform. The research participant group comprised Institute Directors, Curriculum Managers, teachers, industry representatives in metropolitan and regional NSW. The interview program informed the Schofield Report on Curriculum Development for TAFE NSW.
Kaye's work in education includes almost 20 years in teaching and leadership positions. In recent years, she has designed and led professional learning and research programs. In partnership with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, Kaye has led the Principles of Learning and Teaching(PoLT) program and assisted schools in data collection and goal-setting around learning and teaching in over 200 government, Catholic and independent schools in Victoria and Queensland.
Kaye is an augural Trustee of the philanthropic organisation, Catherine House, which provides supported accommodation and education programs for homeless women. Kaye has held this honorary position as Trustee since 2004.
ACEP ASSOCIATES
Jennifer Gervasoni
Jennifer Gervasoniis an experienced secondary school teacher who has worked in coaching roles in Victorian schools since 2006. She co-facilitates workshops for ACEP with a focus on peer observation, data collection and the use of film to assist with teacher reflection and self evaluation.
Jennifer has extensive knowledge of e5, VELS, VCAL, VCE, Assessment (as, of and for learning) that combines with her experience in curriculum development in both primary and secondary settings. As part of the ACEP facilitation team, Jennifer will focus on ways of using e5 to encourage reflection with colleagues and undertake coaching conversations and peer observations.
Jen is a highly regarded professional learning facilitator who has recently presented to whole staff groups on appropriate pedagogy and effective use of ICT. She is currently completing her Masters in School Leadership with a research focus on assessing teachers’ ‘readiness for coaching’.
Carolyn Macaulay
Carolyn Macaulay brings a wealth of diverse experience to the ACEP team of Associates. Her deep pedagogical knowledge combines with her expertise and experience in various forms of coaching and specific skills in questioning and assisting colleagues to reflect and think clearly about their goals and challenges. Carolyn has worked in a range of contexts and various leadership roles during her 12 years with the DEECD. Her experience covers school-based and regional roles as innovations and excellence educator and acting senior project officer at EMR and school principal.
Carolyn has completed the Centre for Cognitive Coaching (US) course and has demonstrated her coaching skills over the last three years in her work with teachers, coaches and school, leaders. She has led the facilitation of a range of professional learning programs with a focus on building teacher capacity and developing effective teams.
Carolyn works on ACEP’s e5 Master Class and Instructional Coaching programs.
Peter Reynolds
Peter Reynolds is a Research Fellow in the Department of Information Systems at The University of Melbourne, Australia.His commercial experience spans the public sector in Defence and the private sector in manufacturing and finance. From 1998 to 2003 Peter was the Head of IT Strategy and then Chief Technology Officer for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA).He then worked planning the $1.5bn 'Which new Bank' transformation and managed key components of the $250m delivery of a new customer management platform.
Peter left the bank to undertake a full-time PhD at the Australian Graduate School of Management, UNSW in 2006.Peter is on the editorial board of the Journal of Information Technology (JIT), a founding advisory board member of the CIO Executive Council and sits on the Department of Immigration and Citizenship $495mSystems for People steering committee. Peter is a graduate of the Australian Defence Force Academy, holds a BSc (Honours) in Computer Science and ME (Honours) in Telecommunications.He is currently completing his PhD studies in Management and Strategy and Entrepreneurship. Peter has been involved in both the design and delivery of several ACEP programs over the past two years.
Lena Gan
Lena Gan has spent over 20 years in the marketing, communication and business consultancy professions. Eight of these were spent in Paris, Barcelona and Brussels where invaluable business and marketing experience was acquired working with such multi-national clients as L'Oreal, Nestle, Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Colgate Palmolive, Kodak and Kraft General Foods.
Her recent projects have largely encompassed the development of marketing & communication strategies, the alignment of business and marketing plans and business growth and development.
Lenais a Project Management Institute accredited project manager (PMP) and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Project Management Institute. She is currently completing a Masters in Environmental Sustainablity at the University of Melbourne.
Robyn Barratt
Robyn Barratt has worked in South Australian schools and in State and National Projects for over 30 years. These include work with adolescents, and the Junior Secondary Review in SA; the National Schools Network; and the National Middle Schooling Project (ACSA). Currently she is supporting fledgling teachers by lecturing in the Middle Schooling for the Middle Years Course at Uni SA.
She has a strong commitment to rethinking education for the 21st Century.
She has been involved in ACEP's significant work, such as PLATO sessions supporting leadership reflection, the facilitation of Protocols for teachers and leaders, and assistance in the design and delivery of the ACEP Coaching Program.
Chris Leece
Chris Leece is a lecturer to final year students in Teacher Education at Victoria University. She works closely with schools in the Western metropolitan area through the Projects Partnerships Program at Victoria University. She brings her experience and understanding of the context of schools and the current challenges facing beginning teachers to her work with ACEP. Chris plays a vital role in program design and facilitation for ACEP's Principles of Learning and Teaching (PoLT) program and Coaching Programs.
Margie Warrell
Margie Warrell provides support and advice in the design and development of ACEP's Coaching Programs. Margie is an ICF certified coach and author of an internationally successful book on coaching, Find Your Courage: Becoming Fearless in Work and in Life.
Margie has shared her learning about goal-setting and developing efficacy in a wide range of contexts, including national television in the US. She recently presented to the American National Assn. of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) and National Assn. of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) State Executive Directors’ Annual Conference. Margie has led several conference programs for the International Coaching Federation in the USA. On her regular trips to Australia, Margie addresses audiences drawn from the corporate and education sectors around motivating individuals and teams to improve their performance. With clients ranging from global corporations and professional associations to universities and non-profits including NASA, ExxonMobil, Accenture and Georgetown University, Margie presents dynamic keynotes and interactive workshops to enhance communication, build collaboration, strengthen leadership and improve performance. Margie’s third book will be released later this year. It includes input from renowned leadership expert Stephen R. Covey.
Katrina Aarsman
Katrina has extensive experience as a professional development consultant in the area of ICT and finance. Katrina brings specific expertise in finance management and planning to her role as part of the ACEP team. She is a qualified accountant and owns a bookkeeping/accounting business Essential Office Solutions. She is a member of the National Institute of Accountants and supports ACEP's bookkeeping and office staff with her expertise in accounting and accounting software.
Each year Katrina has assisted the directors in setting up projections so that ACEP is fully aware of on-going and future commitments and is prepared for any changes within the industry. Katrina's management and analysis expertise adds considerable value to the ACEP organisation.
ADVISORY BOARD
Joan Spiller
Joan Spiller combines consultancy work with Board Directorships. She is Managing Partner of Welsearch Pty Ltd, a consulting business, specialising in strategy development and analysis, particularly in relation to IT-enabled business. She is a Director and Chair of the Board of Flower & Samios Pty Ltd, a Sydney-based architectural practice.
Her consultancy work covers a wide spectrum of fields, including Healthcare, Communications, IT management, Biotech, Building & Construction, Education and Defence. She has extensive experience in public sector policy and management, built up over a 30 year career that included the roles of General Manager, Operations, Australia Post; Regional Director, Health Department Victoria; and Director, Psychiatric Services, Victoria. She has chaired a Universal Postal Union International Working Party on Productivity and numerous Ministerial Working Parties.
Along with her role as Director of the Australian Centre for Effective Partnerships (ACEP), she holds Board positions in the not-for-profit sector, including Chair of the Georges Mora Foundation, Director and Hon Secretary of the Mietta Foundation, Chair of the Australian Art Orchestra, and Hon Secretary of the Mietta Song Recital Award. She is also a member of the National Executive of the Commonwealth Study Conference. Previous Board positions include Director, Australian Broadcasting Corporation (1986-1991); Director, Monash IVF (1988-2003); Director, Monash Ultrasound (1996-2003); Director, Monash Reproductive Pathology & Genetics (1996-2003); Board Member TAC Rehabilitation Centre (1994-1998); Member, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Advisory Board (1991-98) and Trustee, MSO Foundation (1993-98).
Professor Philip Yetton
Professor Philip Yetton is the Director of Australian Graduate School of Management's flagship General Manager Program and runs its Leadership and Decision Making Workshop. He has been the recipient of the University of New South Wales Vice-Chancellor's Teaching Award. Philip's interests are in Leadership, IS-based strategic change, project management, governance and organisational design and capabilities. He works with a number of Australian organisations in these areas and with colleagues overseas, where he is visiting professor at Warwick Business School and Bath University and an Associate Fellow at Templeton College, Oxford.
He was co-awarded the Kenneth R Ernst Award in 2001 by Accenture for the International Thought Leadership, and in 2003, he was recognised by the Academy of Management Journal of Learning for his outstanding contribution to Leadership Research. He gave the keynote address at the British Information Systems Conference in 2004.
In 2005, as Director of CORDS Pty Ltd, he reviewed for the Department of Education, Science and Technology, the strategy literature and its implication for Australian Institutions going international.
